Allison Wilson

Certified Yoga Therapist & Instructor

Allison found her love of yoga, in a hot yoga room, back in 2008. She began her practice with the intention of having a purely physical experience, however by consistently showing up on her mat, she soon learned that yoga is so much more- she began to experience a deeper connection to her true self, mind, body and spirit. She learned to ride the wave of life, and developed a deeper awareness of herself and an understanding of how we are all connected. She learned how to take the challenge and anticipation of life to a place of non-reaction, being in the moment, and becoming more in-tuned with her mind and body. This is what drew her to begin her journey as a yoga teacher, and later a yoga therapist. She completed her first yoga teacher training with Moksha (now known as Modo) Yoga in 2015, and went on to complete her training with Yoga Therapy Toronto,as a yoga therapist in 2019. Her group classes are taught from a therapeutic perspective, holding space for students to help find a deeper connection to themselves, become more in tune with their patterns, to cultivate awareness, and to be still.

In addition to group classes, Allison provides her one-on-one yoga therapy clients with an individually designed practice that meets their specific needs. She focuses her therapy on providing support from accidents and injuries, anxiety, depression, chronic stress and female health (specifically pre-natal, endometriosis, perimenopause and menopause).

Definition of Yoga Therapy

The healing power of yoga therapy allows you to quiet the mind, become more in tune with the body and cultivate your individual power to change the course of your life’s journey. Whether you are healing from an accident or injury, managing anxiety or depression, discovering a new version of yourself, or are using yoga to become more aware of your own unique power, yoga therapy allows for the space to become in tune with your true authentic self. Allison focuses on the individual and creating a practice that works for them and their specific needs. She holds space in a compassionate and non-judgmental way and fosters an environment for her clients to heal in their own timeframe. There is no rush, no pushing or forcing. Allison works alongside her clients to meet their individual goals.
